President’s Message 2012

Well it’s that time of year again—it has been a tough year for a lot of people, but I hope you’re all back in the groove again—now it’s time to go fishing!  Come and have another great weekend of fun and prizes, and tell some fish tales at the Rakaia Salmon Fishing Competition.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the sponsors that have come on board in these tough times to make this Competition so good, please support them.  Thanks to all the volunteers and the Executive Committee for all their time and effort, both to tidy up last year’s competition and to organise this year’s.

I’d especially like to thank all those competitors who donated their entry fees from the cancelled 2011 competition—thanks to their generosity, and donations from some of our sponsors, RRFP was able to donate over $28,000 to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.

So let’s all be positive about the 2012 competition—the salmon will be running, the Rakaia River will be a great colour, the company will be great, and the prizes—well, could it get any better?  I look forward to seeing you all there.
